Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Karanjawala and Co., represented Tata Sons and opposed the transfer petition by Cyrus Mistry’s firms



New Delhi, Oct. 06, 2017 : The Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi and others from Karanjawala and Co., represented Tata Sons and opposed the transfer petition by Cyrus Mistry’s firms Cyrus Investments Ltd and Sterling Investments Ltd had applied for transfer of case against Tata Sons for alleged mismanagement of minority shareholders.

 

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has dismissed a petition moved by Cyrus Mistry’s firms seeking transfer of their company petition against Tata Sons out of Mumbai bench apprehending bias and therefore, sought transfer of the petition.

 

The National Company Law Tribunal also imposed a cost of Rs 10 lakh.

 

Appearing for Tata Sons, senior advocates Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Mukul Rohatgi, Mohan Parasaran and Amit Sibal, along with advocates from Karanjawala and Co., and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Co. opposed the transfer petition.

 

Senior Advocates C A Sundaram, Som Sheker Sudershan, Ms Sonali Jaitely Bakshi, Rohini Musa, Puneet Bindra and other appearing for Cyrus Mistry’s firms Cyrus Investments Ltd and Sterling Investments Ltd had applied for transfer of case against Tata Sons for alleged mismanagement of minority shareholders.
